Lesson 11: More than the end
Ok, so now we are 4 paragraphs into our 5 paragraph essay.
The last paragraph will be completed in this lesson.
The last paragraph is called the conclusion.
Shocker, I know!
So now might be a good time to pull up the four paragraph Word doc that you turned in for the last lesson.
Hopefully, it's been graded with teacher comments/suggestions for improvement. If not, that's ok! Just work with what you have.
After the end of today's lesson you'll have you full five paragraphs and they will be well-revised and edited--by YOU!!

HOW to write a conclusion
In my extensive experience, students have the toughest time with writing a conclusion!!
There is a technique to it, and it's far more than saying, "In conclusion..." EEEEEENNNNTTTTT. WRONG!!
Please do not start your conclusion that way. I will promptly stop reading, as will every audience member you ever had.
Now that you are young adults, you are expected to write like it. Properly educated young adults do not begin with 'In conclusion...":
So, exactly HOW DO YOU start a concluding paragraph?
Great question!!
See slides 3 and 4 in the lesson for examples on how to begin, develop and end concluding paragraphs.
You can skip slides 5 and 6.
