Fear, Anxieties, Phobias, Oh my!
So, this lesson starts by talking about different types of fears. The reason for that is to link it to the other lesson, but also these fear words are a great platform to teach you about prefixes, suffixes, and root words. Root words are a lot to learn in one lesson and you are asked to learn so much more than that. Root words help when you are trying to determine the meaning of a word. We will go over these three parts of words below.

The following link is one that will take you to a common list of prefixes and suffixes; however, you still need to take notes on the ones used in the lesson.
Pacing
Pacing should be a review for you, but I will also include some information here. There are two kinds of pacing that will be discussed this lesson. There is a fast pace and a slow pace. Authors can change up the pace based on how they want the readers to interact with and interpret the text. When it comes to a slow pace, think of the author putting events into slow motion or making the reader feel the drawn out summer day. Writers can use fast pace for a chase scene, when someone is nervous in front of a crowd, or when the character is desperate.
