First Draft
When you are writing your first draft, do not worry about making sure there are no mistakes as the rubric suggests, but do make sure you are turning in a complete five paragraph narrative essay from the point of view of one of the characters in the story The Pomegranate Seeds.
Just so you had the story again, I am including a downloadable PDF of the story below.

When writing your first draft, please use the chart you made a few lessons ago where you laid out the order of the story you will be creating. Also, in the lesson on slide eight it says to type your draft into the box. Please do not do this and just submit it at the end of the lesson. If you just submit it in the box IT WILL ERASE. Also, please do not worry about turning in the rough draft worksheet. This is not needed.
After you turn in your final draft, please please give me at least 24 school hours for me to grade it, give you comments, and return it to you. You will then use these comments to edit your essay. I take quite a bit of time writing these comments and I expect that you use them to better your essay before you turn in your final draft.

In your rough draft, make sure you have:
- 5 paragraphs
- AT LEAST two lines of dialogue
- lots of description and imagery (think to expand writing: what does the character smell, see, taste?)
- more information about your character that we did not get from the original story
Now start writing!
