Lesson 14: Semester Two Exam
This is the last lesson that you'll need to complete for the course!
There are three things to complete in this lesson:
2 portfolio dropboxes
1 exam
The portfolios involve your collaboration project assignment, and you'll need to submit that first, so let's get that done!

Collaboration Project
Remember the directions given on the class message board for what to do for the collaboration project this semester:
Please DO NOT follow the instructions given for the collaboration project in your course.
The assignment has been changed!!
Instead of doing what the course describes, we will be writing one story as a whole class.
All the students in English and Honors English I B will be required to contribute at least 10 sentences to one on-going story throughout the semester.
So, where do you go to write in your part of the story, you ask??
Please click this link: http://glcaenglish.weebly.com/
This will take you to a website that a few of the GLCA teachers have made.
Once you are there:
click on 'classes'-->English I B-->Collaboration Project
Please read the blog post entitled, 'English/Honors I B Collaboration Project.'
Then take a look at the 'Untitled' blog post.
There you will see the prompt for the story, as well as an image.
Click on the link under the image to read the story so far that your classmates have written.
When you read to the end of what's there, it's your turn to add to the story.
Remember the rules:
Ground rules:
1) Minimum of 10 sentences for your first (and required) post
2) Maximum of 20 sentences for your first (and required) post
3) Spelling and grammar DO COUNT
4) Keep it school appropriate
5) PLEASE NOTE: I have this blog set to have comments approved BEFORE they appear--which means that I have to approve them. SOMETIMES--I'm not on-line (crazy, I know) so please refrain from submitting a post after 4 pm on the weekdays and please avoid the weekends all together. Please also avoid posing on Holiday breaks.
6) Read the story and follow the story line, including characters, setting, action and dialogue
7) Please remember to take a screen shot of your post and save it. You will be required to submit your screen shot in a drop box at the end of the course.
8) Enjoy!
The collaboration project is intended to be a semester-long project that the whole class works on. Each student is required to submit a minimum of 10 sentences (maximum of 20) at least ONCE in the semester.
You may contribute up to 20 sentences up to 5 more times for extra credit (+10 each submission).
What to turn in:
1) A screen-shot of your contribution to the story (50 points)
This will be turned into the drop box in Unit 3 Lesson 15
NOTE: You cannot turn in assignments out-of-order, which means that you must turn in your collaboration project when you get to Unit 3 Lesson 15 (and not before).
HOWEVER, please, contribute to the story before you get to the Unit 3 Lesson 15 drop box.
2) TBA (50 points)
Please DO NOT follow the instructions given for the collaboration project in your course.

FIrst drop box
Just to re-cap:
The first drop box requires you to turn in a screen shot of your collaboration post.
Anything else may earn as low as a zero.

second drop box
This dropbox will be for those of you that are interested in capitalizing on the extra credit offer associated with the collaboration project.
Remember the extra credit offer is:
You may contribute up to 20 sentences up to 5 more times for extra credit (+10 each submission).
Please upload your screen shots of your added contributions into this second drop box.
If you chose to by-pass the extra credit offer, please fill the drop box with a Word doc that reads: "Skipped per Weebly"

by-pass the collaboration project
If the collaboration project is just way too difficult for you to manage (remember, it IS just 10 sentences, really), you can still get to the semester one exam.
You'll get a zero on the collaboration project, but it's only 50 points in the grand scheme of things...so you may be just fine even with a zero on it.
Click as 'submit off-line' and that will allow you to proceed to the exam without turning in anything for the collaboration project.

semester two exam
The semester exam is a big test over everything you've learned in this course so far.
It is completely acceptable to use any and all notes you've taken over the course of the semester.
I suggest reading through your notes once or twice before starting the exam.
Please read the instructions on slide 1 of the lesson. There are some important things to know about saving, printing, minimizing and walking away from an open exam.
Here is an exam study guide:
