Pre-Writing Process
Remember that essay momentarily mentioned? You will begin brainstorming and developing an outline for your story here. The actual parts of the story are broken up over a few slides. I will include the entire story here and a link to it on every subsequent page that requires the story. Do not forget, this story is also included in your syllabus.

WHAT am i writing about?!?!?!?!
You may get a bit confused here about what you are writing about. You have probably heard of a narrative essay and have already started brainstorming 15 different essays about your favorite trips or best memories. Although this is a narrative essay, you are writing it about the above story and through the eyes of another character.
You will choose which character you most connect with and then you narrate the same story as above from their point of view. Of course you can change some events, but you need to keep the general idea and action of the story the same.
Think about the characters. Do you identify with Proserpina? What is her untold story? What about Pluto? Does he take her because he is evil or lonely? Choose ONE character and narrate the story from their point of view. This new essay should give insight into the character's thoughts, feelings, and motives.

Portfolio Assessment: What do you turn in?
You are turning in the Narrative Planner (slide 9). This planner will help you organize your thoughts about the story and how you will go about writing it.
